Calling Card & Pinless
Another popular VoIP service is making calls from regular phones or mobiles through so called access numbers.

Then user is asked for PIN or authenticated by Caller ID (ANI) and then asked to enter the destination number he/she wants to connect to.

In the past an ITSP had to expect significant investments in equipment in order to establish an access number with sufficient number of channels.

Usually it was realized by PSTN gateways connected to local telecom company through E1s or T1s.

If an ITSP wanted to have an access number in different locations it had to replicate the whole setup in every place.

Now, thanks to the DID numbers (didx.net, voixbone.net) the whole calling cards business has become much easier, faster and what the most important - affordable even for startups.

Enough is to purchase desired numbers in particular locations, for example in US, in UK and so on.

Then select the number of channels for each number which depends on our projections on the number of concurrent calls in the initial stage.

We can start with even as few as 5 lines per number just to start and then gradually add more as more users are subscribing to the service.

No need to invest hundreds thousands in hardware and connections to local telecoms anymore. The DID provider takes care of this part for you.

The next step is just to add those numbers on Softswich and assign them to selected IVR scenarios.

Each access number can point to a scenario in different language, for example number from Madrid can be operated by the IVR in Spanish.

The SoftSwitch is fully ready to work with DID numbers, from the inception the IVR was designed to work with this new approach of realizing the access numbers for calling cards.
